(IN THE OLD TIME, ETERNITY WAS LONGER)

Any musical form with clear rhythmic, harmonic, or melodic content will engage my brain into analytic listening, leaving no place for anything else. An unfortunate handicap, sometimes.

So I produce the AMBIENT series, under the BATEYE moniker, for those moments of meditation-reflection-study-escape, where you want to keep the ears just a little busy, but not to the point of preventing any other mental process. 
A speaking silence of sort.

The fourth delivery of the AMBIENT series, those three long form pieces are made this time with layers of slowed down sound snippets. Elusive rhythms, blurred harmonic patterns and loose structures, but a musical gesture nonetheless.

Decreasing the speed of an audio recording and using the results as creation elements is an old concept, but some new tech allows for unprecedented alterations, an audio equivalent of molecular level. When looking into such a musical microscope, fascination occurs.

Those molecules of slowness bring stability, which is in short supply these days, although the great demand is not clearly acknowledged. But since we just crammed about ten or twenty centuries into four or five decades, I believe every tiny bit of slowness can be of use.
