"I’m hardly surprised that my favorite soundtracks this year are from puppet shows and circuses. In those retro art forms, music still gets a chance to convey emotion. Haunting soundscapes of this sort could work wonders in a film or TV series. But first they’d have to ditch all the drones and buzzes."

Volume 2 of the tunes composed for the puppet show "Mes Racines Sont Des Cailloux", a play written by Marie-Lyne Verret, produced in 2020 and 2021. The show debuted at the FIAMS in July 2021.

I believe they are suitable studies for the weissenborn guitar : nothing too challenging technically, but left field enough for the instrument, and leaving ample room for personal interpretation.

The mood is meditative overall, melancholic even, lot of waltzes in minor, plenty of rubato playing, with some slow ballads in 4/4 here and there, fitting the feeling of the show quite well.
Nothing up-tempo or too busy, so they can also make for a nice soft ambient background, if you're so inclined.

Most of them are in minor tuning (D A D F A D), and a few are in major (D A D F# A D), commonly found on the weissenborn. I sometimes even move from minor to major, or vice-versa, into the same piece, retuning the third string on the fly while playing. 

Included is a booklet with scans of personal tablatures I made when I was composing the tunes.  Their purpose was to document the work in progress, so they are not transcriptions of the recording, but instead witnesses of the journey from the first ideas to the final results.
